Three classical programs
Tamattuʿ, Ifrād, and Qirān — three canonical programs, each with its own miqāt, conditions, and adherents.
The most common, and the most accessible
The pilgrim first performs Umrah in the months of Hajj, exits ihrām, then re-enters ihrām for Hajj on the Day of Tarwiyah. Two rites in one journey.
Hajj, and Hajj alone
The pilgrim enters ihrām for Hajj alone — no preceding Umrah — and remains in ihrām until the Day of Sacrifice. No hady is due.
Both rites, conjoined
The pilgrim enters ihrām for both Umrah and Hajj with a single intention, remaining in ihrām until the Day of Sacrifice. Hady is required.
